OVERVIEW

Architectural lighting sits at the intersection of art, design, technology and engineering. It refers to the premium-quality, strategically-placed lighting set within the architecture of your home: recessed downlights, accent lights and linear channels. Intended to provide functional illumination, dimension and to highlight important features, architectural lighting provides the critical layers needed to bring your space to life.

From textiles and stone to millwork and artwork, proper lighting allows the full integrity of your project to shine. When implemented successfully, architectural lighting enhances every design element of your home, creating an environment you can feel.

By focusing on the light itself, architectural lighting design leverages software tools, detailed calculations and best practice techniques to create desired effects. We pair this specialized skillset with only the highest quality products to meet the needs and standards of our projects.  As a final layer, we always recommend the installation of automated controls to achieve the most comprehensive outcome.

Quality, thoughtfully-designed architectural lighting makes a profound impact on the way you experience your home. A robust plan supports ambiance, tasks, wayfinding, overall comfort and well-being.

  • This premium service combines the knowledge of art, science, engineering, and more to improve the visual appeal and performance of a room. A trained design team works to establish even, layered light that adds depth and beauty, all while helping facilitate everyday tasks. Light is directable and dimmable, spotlighting your desired areas of focus. The difference the interplay of light and contrasts provides can completely change the feel of a space. This is one instance where seeing truly is believing.

  • RECESSED DOWNLIGHTS:
Recessed lighting is built into the architecture of the home, above the ceiling plane. Careful consideration is made in regard to the heat the bulbs put off, as well as the light’s trim, which can impact light production, glare, and direction. Recessed lighting adds illumination to rooms without taking up space. Best practices consist of planning recessed lighting first, followed by linear lighting.

    LINEAR CHANNELS:
Linear lighting includes a single or collection of long, thin light fixtures that tend to sit in a channel, often inside of millwork or in a ceiling cove. Linear lighting offers versatile choices in location, brightness, and color. It can be used to create interest in architectural features or to highlight work spaces, offering flexibility for the practical or whimsical.
