YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

  • Our architectural lighting clients are typically working on a new build or large-scale remodel project. They are looking for a partner that can help design and implement a cohesive lighting plan from start to finish. Our team excels at coordinating with all constituents during the design & build process, helping to streamline and elevate the final outcome. Our architectural lighting clients are looking to be informed and to make an investment in their project. While financial investments vary greatly depending upon scope and product selection, our clients understand this investment is above and beyond current industry standards. The more complex the project and the more moving parts, the more value our clients feel from our involvement. We are here to coordinate, delegate, organize and communicate to ensure the process is as seamless as possible.

  • Our concierge service can include a variety of engagement levels. Our typical projects go beyond a single accent chandelier and often incorporate whole house projects. That said, we serve a variety of clients and place orders for interior designers, create full-scale decorative lighting plans, and also work hand-in-hand with homeowners to help design, source, and coordinate. Builders choose to send their clients to Relative for decorative fixture selection because of the guided experience, as well as the streamlined logistics. If you’re not sure, send us an inquiry!

  • We prefer to be involved as early as possible. Architectural lighting planning coincides with the architectural design process. If you have plans drawn up, we are ready to come to the table. If you’d like to meet prior to plans, even better! Once drywall is up, it becomes more difficult to plan for appropriate housings; however, many things are possible. We always prefer fewer limitations in the design, which is why it’s best to be involved early.

  • Yes. Interior designers often bring us into their projects to elevate and support the overall experience and final outcome. We bring our lighting expertise to the table and help everyone shine a little brighter. From design and product knowledge to project management and logistics. Whatever fits your process and business best is how we flex.

  • Yes. We love working with engaged and passionate homeowners. Homeowners are a key constituent in most projects and we always enjoy having direct access and open communication with them in our process. Many of our larger projects involve builders and design teams as well. Whether the request is for a full-scale lighting plan or to source a few specific pieces, we are here to bring your vision to light.

  • In a word, absolutely! We bring our project management skills to the table to help support the new build process. We handle all lighting logistics from ordering, timing of delivery, labeling, placement, coordination, and troubleshooting. These are often details builders enjoy having our help with. With multiple moving parts in any new build, our team is in place to support the process and help make sure lighting details don’t get overlooked. We’ve become a trusted asset to our fellow creatives.

  • We do not staff licensed electricians. We depend on the skilled trade of electrical contractors to execute our projects and bring them to life. We work hand-in-hand to communicate detailed specifications needed for a smooth installation.

  • Many of our clients are looking for luxury, one-of-a-kind home experiences; a budget of $50k+ is often a minimum starting point for an entire home. The total square footage and product quality mix are what drive the budget. Concierge service value increases with the project size and scope.

  • We are centrally located in the United States. We take projects coast to coast all across the country.

  • Relative Lighting is an independent creative lighting specialist. We have strategic relationships with manufacturers that fit our quality standards. Unlike most manufacturers, we offer an elevated concierge experience that goes beyond order placement. Our clients appreciate this level of service, which doesn’t accompany a direct-to-manufacturer transaction. Everyone receives access to our complete portfolio of services and support, homeowners included. The goal of our team, when engaging on a project, is to make something more magnificent than the sum of its parts. All qualified trade professionals can access trade-level pricing as a standard.

  • We’re so glad you asked… this is one of our favorite topics! In our world, CANS is a four-letter word. Commodity cans are off-the-shelf and come with undesirable effects like ceiling glare and cannot offer the control or design that comes with custom recessed downlights. Intentional lighting designs allow for control of beam spread, color temperature, lumen output, ceiling aesthetic just to name a few key benefits. These custom products take into consideration design, contrast ratios, flange aesthetic and more, all of which adds up to the overall experience you desire.

  • Yes. Our concierge service isn’t limited to the interior of your home. We evaluate these projects on a case-by-case basis. If you’re interested in landscape lighting design, please mention this when you inquire.
